Depression in College

When I was a sophomore in college, I was so low I didn’t feel like attending classes; I skipped some, studied less, and my grades dropped. I was not my “real” self; I avoided people and didn’t engage in activities I enjoyed. Nobody understood me—including all my friends—and I dropped out of college

I wish I knew then what I know now, that overcoming depression is difficult, but life is worth it. Make no mistake, fighting depression is a battle, but the other, better side is always there. It just doesn’t seem like it at the time. You can, and will, get through college. You will have spectacular experiences, a rewarding career and many more wonderful things.
